Chapter 10 - The True Heir

Marcus took a slow, deep breath. The terrifying, ruthless corporate apex predator completely vanished.

He dropped to one knee on the hardwood floor, right in front of Rosa and Lily. Rosa was still weeping softly, completely overwhelmed by the apocalyptic events that had just unfolded in the dining room.

Marcus didn't fire the mother. He looked at the tiny, brave girl in the pink dress, his dark eyes radiating profound, overwhelming respect and unconditional gratitude.

"You are the bravest person in this entire building, Lily," Marcus smiled, a genuine, breathtakingly warm smile breaking through his serious persona. "You just saved my entire company. And nobody is ever going to lock you in a closet. I promise."

Lily finally smiled back, hugging her stuffed rabbit tightly against her chest, completely safe in the billionaire's presence.

Six months later, Diana was officially sentenced to fifteen years in a federal penitentiary for corporate espionage and extortion. Without the stolen patent, her family's corrupt empire completely collapsed into bankruptcy.

Marcus completely transformed his household. Rosa wasn't a maid anymore; Marcus immediately promoted her to Head of Estate Operations, tripling her massive salary, moving them into a luxury suite in the penthouse, and fully funding Lily's entire private education for the rest of her life.

Marcus stood in his massive penthouse, looking out over the illuminated city skyline, completely secure in his immense power. He had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.
