Chapter 7 - The True Ownership

Vanessa’s arrogant smirk completely collapsed. She looked at the man's neck tattoos and the lethal, cinematic stillness of his posture. Pure, suffocating panic finally hijacked her nervous system.

"I... I just meant the seating chart is very strict," Vanessa stammered, frantically trying to soften her tone, shrinking back into her heavy gold chair.

The rugged man took one slow, deliberate step toward the VIP table.

"You told her to sit near the kitchen," he stated, his voice dropping into a dark, demonic register that vibrated through the floorboards.

"She doesn't belong here!" Vanessa argued defensively, her voice cracking as her elite guests began to slowly back away from her table. "This is an elite charity gala! My husband’s company paid for this entire ballroom!"

The mafia boss didn't argue. He slowly reached into his black suit jacket and pulled out a heavy, gold-plated master keycard. He tossed it onto the dining table. It landed directly next to Vanessa's champagne glass with a heavy, final clack.

"Your husband’s company rented the ballroom," the man corrected coldly. "I own the hotel."
