Chapter 4 - The Hidden Pocket

Nathan gently extended his hand toward Grace.

"Show them, Grace," Nathan said softly, the terrifying, ruthless billionaire completely melting away into a profoundly respectful, protective man.

Grace took a shaky breath. She didn't cower anymore. The broken, humiliated cleaner completely vanished. A fierce, unbreakable woman fully awakened. She slowly stood up from the small table, her gray work smock contrasting sharply with the opulent surroundings.

She reached deep into the front pocket of her white apron.

Vanessa watched in absolute, paralyzing horror as Grace pulled out a small, sleek, heavily encrypted silver flash drive.

"You made a fatal mistake, Vanessa," Grace spoke for the first time, her voice ringing clear and steady through the silent ballroom. "You love rubbing your stolen wealth in my face. You loved sending your expensive coats to my dry cleaner just to force me to clean them."

Vanessa hyperventilated, clutching her gold sequined gown.

"But last week," Grace continued, her dark eyes locking onto her wicked stepsister, "you dropped off a coat you hadn't worn in five years. The coat you wore to my father's funeral. And you forgot to check the inner lining."

The cinematic realization crashed over Vanessa with the force of a nuclear bomb.

"Inside the lining," Grace whispered, holding the flash drive up to the warm candlelight, "was the original, un-forged Will signed by my father in blue ink. And attached to it was the digital ledger containing every single illegal wire transfer you made to the corrupt lawyers."
