Chapter 1 - The Electric Razor

The grand American luxury mansion in New York was a massive, isolated fortress of old-money wealth. Warm, cinematic, and deeply moody lighting reflected off the opulent gold-trimmed walls and the heavy crystal chandelier hanging in the hallway. But the profound silence of the estate was violently shattered by the loud, aggressive hum of an electric razor.
Christopher, a terrifyingly wealthy billionaire in his late thirties, marched down the hallway. He was a heavily muscular, imposing man with dark hair and dark chest tattoos visible beneath his unbuttoned black dress shirt. He had just returned from a month-long corporate acquisition in Tokyo, completely exhausted and deeply protective of his fragile family.
He followed the buzzing sound directly to the master bedroom.
A wide cinematic shot captured Christopher forcefully shoving open the heavy mahogany bedroom door. His face violently twisted into a mask of sudden, lethal anger and absolute panic.
Sitting in the center of the room was his sixty-year-old mother, Florence. She was pale, incredibly frail, and actively battling aggressive chemotherapy. She wore a light blue silk nightgown and a thick beige knit cardigan.
Kneeling directly on the expensive Persian rug behind her was Hannah, the newly hired, twenty-something maid with long wavy blonde hair, wearing a classic black and white uniform. And Hannah was holding a humming electric razor directly against his sick mother's head.

"What are you doing to her?!" Christopher roared authoritatively, his dark eyes flashing with pure, unadulterated fury as he stepped aggressively into the room.
👉 Christopher expected his mother to be crying in pain, entirely unprepared for the heartbreaking vulnerability he was about to witness.
