Chapter 6 - The Secret Family

An extreme close-up captured Christopher’s face.

His stoic, powerful, and utterly untouchable facade completely, violently shattered. His dark eyes widened in absolute, apocalyptic horror as his gaze finally dropped to the faded photograph resting on his desk.

It was an old picture of his father, Richard, taken twenty-five years ago. Richard was smiling, standing on the deck of a massive private yacht. But Richard wasn't standing next to Florence. He wasn't holding a young Christopher.

Richard was holding a beautiful blonde woman. And sitting on the man's shoulders, laughing brightly, was a tiny, blonde-haired toddler.

The toddler possessed the exact same eyes, the exact same nose, and the exact same facial structure as the twenty-something maid standing quietly on the other side of the desk.

Hannah wasn't a stranger. She wasn't a maid.

She was his biological half-sister.

"No..." Christopher breathed out in a horrified, breathless whisper, his chest heaving as the absolute, crushing magnitude of his father's double life hit him.

His father hadn't just been corrupt. He had maintained an entire, secret second family in another state. When Richard died in the plane crash, all of the massive corporate wealth, the mansions, and the trusts had legally transferred to Christopher and Florence. Hannah and her mother had been completely, legally erased, left with absolutely nothing.

Christopher slowly raised his head, looking at the young woman in the black and white maid uniform.

👉 Hannah didn't look angry; she looked completely ready to deliver the final, devastating truth.
