Chapter 10 - The Missed Strike

Ethan stopped exactly ten feet away from the trapped, massive security guard.

The room was completely, suffocatingly silent. There was no screaming, no chaotic violence. There was only the intense, lethal psychological pressure of a billionaire who had just been handed the exact key to destroying his enemies.

Ethan stared directly into the eyes of the man who had tried to kill him. His expression was completely devoid of fear.

"You missed," Ethan stated. His voice was ice-cold, perfectly calm, and vibrating with an absolute, terrifying dominance that completely shattered the assassin's remaining resolve.

The massive security man's shoulders slumped in absolute defeat. He knew he was a dead man walking. He slowly raised his hands, surrendering completely to the elite bodyguards who stepped forward to quietly and efficiently detain him, dragging him away to face the ruthless, agonizing interrogation that awaited him in the hidden depths of the estate.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Ethan turned back toward the center of the ballroom.

He walked directly up to Elena, who was still holding Noah safely in her arms. The terrified, paranoid billionaire was completely gone. He looked at the young maid with profound respect, realizing she possessed more courage, loyalty, and sharp intelligence than the entire circle of executives who wore his golden cufflinks.

He didn't fire her. He didn't ask her to go back to serving drinks.

Ethan immediately elevated Elena from her domestic duties, formally placing her in charge of Noah's personal security and household management, offering her a staggering salary and a permanent, highly protected place within their family. Using the golden cufflink, Ethan successfully tracked down the traitor in his corporate circle, completely destroying the rival syndicate and securing his empire forever.
