Chapter 7 - The Firing

Eleanor stopped breathing. The blood completely drained from her flawless, contoured face.
"As of this exact moment, you are officially terminated from Voss Holdings," Voss announced loudly, his voice echoing off the diner walls. "You are completely stripped of your executive shares, your corporate accounts are frozen, and you are no longer welcome in my city."
Eleanor stumbled backward, her expensive grey pantsuit suddenly looking cheap and pathetic. She realized her entire corporate empire had just been annihilated in a single sentence.
"You are firing me over a waitress and a brat?!" Eleanor wailed desperately, pointing a shaking finger at Lily.
Voss’s jaw clenched. He didn't yell. He snapped his fingers.
The two massive security guards instantly stepped forward. They didn't grab the waitress. They grabbed Eleanor by her expensive suit jacket, violently hauling the screaming, panicking woman away from the counter.
"Take her back to headquarters and watch her clean out her desk," Voss commanded smoothly. "If she tries to take a single company file, call the FBI."
The guards dragged the hysterical executive right out of the diner. Her desperate cries faded into the freezing winter storm, ending her reign of psychological cruelty and corporate greed forever.
The heavy glass door clicked shut.
