Chapter 8 - The Birth of the Heir

The heavy metal doors of Delivery Room Four slammed shut, locking out the chaos of the hospital corridors.

Inside, the bright surgical lights illuminated a scene of intense, focused medical urgency. Dr. Harrison, a seasoned physician with graying hair and a calm, authoritative demeanor, stood at the foot of the bed. He looked at the horrific bruises on Hannah’s face, his jaw tight with silent, boiling fury, but he kept his voice incredibly soothing.

"You are safe now, Hannah," Dr. Harrison promised, adjusting his sterile gloves. "Nobody is coming through those doors but us. Let's bring Elias's child into the world."

For the next two hours, Hannah fought through the most agonizing, terrifying pain of her life. Every contraction pulled at her bruised ribs, but she channeled the fierce, unbreakable love for her late husband into every single push.

Outside in the hallway, Grant paced like a caged, feral animal. He furiously dialed his hired thugs, demanding they intercept Paige, but the calls went straight to voicemail. His corporate empire was slipping through his fingers with every passing second.

Suddenly, a sharp, piercing sound cut through the sterile silence of the surgical floor.

It was the loud, healthy, powerful cry of a newborn baby.

The Thorne heir had officially taken his first breath, instantly and legally transferring the entire hospital empire into her protective hands.

👉 Grant heard the baby cry and made a desperate sprint for the exit, but the lobby was already a fortress.
