Chapter 6 - The Wrong Conclusion

The cinematic tension in the steakhouse was absolutely paralyzing.
Dominic looked at the suppressed handgun, and then he looked up at his deaf son. The blood violently drained from Dominic’s face, instantly replaced by pure, demonic, calculating wrath.
But Dominic didn't realize Caleb was wearing a wire.
"You brought a weapon to dinner?" Dominic hissed lethally, standing up from his chair. "You were planning to assassinate me? Your own father? To take the throne?"
Caleb frantically shook his head, desperately trying to sign No, it's for protection, but the bodyguard violently twisted his arms, preventing him from communicating at all.
Dominic felt absolutely zero human empathy for the son he had tortured for thirty years.
"Take him to the basement," Dominic ordered his men, his voice echoing violently over the quiet jazz music. "We handle family treason in the dark."
The four towering bodyguards dragged the thrashing, panicking Caleb right across the pristine restaurant floor. Caleb desperately looked toward the kitchen doors, locking eyes with the waitress one last time. His silent, terrified gaze begged for help.
The heavy doors of the restaurant's private wine cellar slammed shut, trapping Caleb underground with his executioners.
