Chapter 6 - The Poisoned Vows

The entire ballroom erupted into chaos. Wealthy guests gasped, some stepping backward in sheer terror.
"Shut her up!" Victoria shrieked like a banshee, lunging forward. "Security! Get this lunatic out of my wedding!"
Two massive security guards stepped forward, but Arthur immediately raised his hand, halting them in their tracks. The dark, intimidating aura of the billionaire CEO completely took over the room.
"If anyone touches her, you're fired," Arthur ordered coldly. He turned his piercing gaze back to Elena. "Explain."
Elena took a deep, shaky breath, keeping her arms securely wrapped around little Leo.
"Two years ago, Victoria was your executive assistant," Elena said, her voice echoing off the marble. "She started coming to the house under the guise of dropping off paperwork. But Claire noticed something. Every time Victoria visited and prepared her evening tea, Claire's symptoms got violently worse."
Victoria’s face turned the color of ash. She stumbled backward, bumping into one of her bridesmaids.
"Claire was too weak to prove it," Elena cried. "She begged me to take her wedding ring and hide it. She told me to stay close to Leo. She said, 'If Victoria ever tries to take my place, you must protect my son. Promise me you will protect my boy.'"
"This is a fabricated lie!" Victoria screamed, pointing frantically. "She’s a jealous, poor maid trying to extort us! Where is your proof?! You have absolutely no proof!"
