Chapter 8 - The Embezzler Exposed
The entire room turned to look at Madison.
Madison was hyperventilating, her chest heaving in panic. Her flawless makeup couldn't hide the sheer, unadulterated terror flooding her eyes.
"It wasn't me!" Madison shrieked instantly, completely unprompted. "She's lying! She's a crazy old woman! She faked those documents!"
Helen smiled a cold, merciless smile. "I didn't say your name, Madison."
Madison froze, realizing she had just entirely incriminated herself.
"Page four, Daniel," Helen instructed quietly.
Daniel frantically flipped to the fourth page of the financial packet. His eyes widened in absolute, paralyzing horror. The twelve million dollars hadn't just vanished. It had been wired directly into three offshore shell companies in the Cayman Islands.
The companies were registered under the name Madison Vance.
"Madison?" Daniel choked out, his voice cracking with absolute betrayal as he looked at his wife. "You... you stole from my company?"
"I was securing our future!" Madison screamed hysterically, realizing she was completely cornered. "You were going to run it into the ground anyway! You are a terrible CEO! I deserved that money for putting up with you and your disgusting, pathetic mother!"
The lead investor stood up in utter disgust. "This is a circus. And a massive fraud. Daniel, not only are we pulling our investment, but I am personally calling the SEC tomorrow morning. You're finished."
The twelve billionaires stood up in unison and marched out of the dining room, completely destroying Daniel’s entire corporate future in a matter of seconds.
