Chapter 6 - The Immediate Termination

"Give the car back to the girl," Adrian commanded flawlessly.
Mrs. Higgins’s hands shook violently as she slowly knelt down and handed the chipped red toy car back to the weeping three-year-old. Lucy immediately hid behind her mother's black and white uniform, terrified of the yelling adults.
Adrian turned his cold, lethal eyes back to the housekeeper.
To understand the sheer, unhinged stupidity of Mrs. Higgins's actions, one had to understand Adrian Moretti. He was a violent man, yes. But his absolute, strictest rule in the syndicate was that women and children were completely untouchable. He despised bullies. And he had just caught his own employee actively torturing a single mother on Christmas Eve.
"You don't protect my son by terrorizing a child," Adrian whispered smoothly, stepping into the housekeeper's personal space. "You are officially terminated, effective immediately."
"Sir, please! I have worked here for ten years!" Mrs. Higgins sobbed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the cold marble floor.
"You have exactly two minutes to pack your belongings and leave my property," Adrian stated clinically, completely devoid of human mercy. "If you are still standing in my house in one hundred and twenty seconds, I will have my enforcers drag you out into the snow by your hair."
Mrs. Higgins let out an apocalyptic shriek of pure, unadulterated terror. She scrambled off the floor and sprinted frantically toward the staff quarters, completely humiliated and permanently erased from the estate.
The heavy, toxic energy was instantly dragged out of the grand hallway.

Adrian took a slow, deep breath, smoothing his black tie. He turned his attention back to the terrified maid still kneeling on his floor.
👉 Adrian crouched down, entirely ready to right the horrific wrong that had happened under his roof.
