Chapter 9 - The Public Eviction

Celeste screamed and cried hysterically as she was completely stripped of her fake wealth, her arrogant pride, and her freedom.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Celeste shrieked, her black designer gown tangling around her legs as she desperately tried to fight the federal agents. "I am a billionaire! I will sue all of you!"

The federal agents didn't care about her money or her threats. They forcefully dragged the weeping, humiliated socialite backward across the white marble floor, completely exposing her to the vicious, mocking glares of the elite donors she had just stolen from.

She was forcefully dragged out of the luxury ballroom and shoved into the back of a freezing police cruiser, her high-society life permanently erased in a single evening.

The chaotic, toxic energy was entirely dragged out of the room, plunging the grand ballroom back into a profound, heavy peace.

The wealthy guests watched in absolute, stunned silence as Damian turned his full attention back to the brave young woman standing beside him.

"Are you okay?" Damian asked softly, his terrifying mafia glare completely replaced by a genuine, breathtakingly warm concern.
