Chapter 4 - The Dinner Charade

Silas knew he couldn't just storm the basement immediately. Vivienne had heavily armed cartel mercenaries posing as "contractors" guarding the East Wing exterior doors. If he triggered an alarm, they might execute Elena before he could reach the heavy steel vault.

He needed to be a ghost.

That evening, Silas took Lily to the grand dining room for dinner. Vivienne was already seated at the long mahogany table, wearing a luxurious crimson designer dress, her neck dripping in diamonds purchased with his syndicate money.

Vivienne glared at the toddler with absolute disgust. "I told you to keep that stray brat in the nursery, Silas. She's ruining the aesthetic of our dinner."

Silas picked up his steak knife. He gripped the silver handle so hard his tattooed knuckles turned completely white, but his face remained a mask of dead, terrifying calm.

"She's fine, Vivienne," Silas replied smoothly, offering a cold, fake smile. "Let her eat."

Under the table, hidden by the long white tablecloth, Silas was holding his encrypted smartphone. He silently dispatched a message to his three most loyal, lethal enforcers—men who answered only to him, not to Vivienne's payroll.
