Chapter 6 - The Reunion in the Dark

Pfft. Pfft. Pfft.
Three suppressed shots shattered the heavy industrial padlocks. The metal snapped loudly. Silas holstered his weapon and kicked the heavy steel door open with bone-crushing force.
The room inside was a nightmare. It was damp, freezing, and illuminated by a single, harsh bulb hanging from the ceiling. Sitting on a thin, filthy mattress in the corner was Elena.
She was devastatingly frail, her clothes reduced to rags, her fair skin pale from years without sunlight. But as the light from the hallway hit Silas’s face, her beautiful green eyes widened in pure, unadulterated shock.
"Silas?" Elena whispered, her voice cracking, completely breathless.
The terrifying mafia boss dropped to his knees on the freezing concrete floor. He crawled forward and pulled her into a desperate, soul-crushing embrace. He buried his face in her neck, his broad shoulders shaking as he openly sobbed—the feared, untouchable monster of the city completely broken by the miracle in his arms.
Elena wept hysterically, her trembling hands clinging to his tight black shirt.

Through her tears, Elena revealed the horrifying depths of Vivienne's betrayal. Vivienne had kept her alive to torture her, forcing Elena to slowly sign over her massive generational trust fund piece by piece to fund a rival cartel. Vivienne had drugged her, beaten her, and promised that if she ever screamed, she would kill Silas.
👉 Silas carried his broken, sobbing wife out of the dark cellar, and an apocalyptic vengeance began to boil in his blood.
