Chapter 5 - The Heavy Steel Door

Midnight struck. The luxury mansion was completely silent.
Silas moved through the dark, checkered marble hallways like a lethal, creeping shadow. He bypassed the main security cameras, descending silently into the restricted East Wing basement.
The air grew damp and freezing cold. As he rounded the corner, he saw the results of his silent order. Vivienne’s three cartel "contractors" were already neutralized, bound and gagged on the concrete floor, guarded by Silas’s loyal men in the shadows.
Silas stepped past them, approaching the massive, rusted steel vault door at the end of the hall.
It was secured from the outside with three heavy, industrial padlocks. There was a small, grated air vent near the base of the concrete wall.
Silas pressed his ear against the freezing metal door.
Faintly, echoing through the thick steel, he heard a soft, broken voice humming a beautiful, familiar lullaby. It was the exact melody Elena used to sing to herself.
Tears of absolute, crushing agony and sheer, violent rage filled his intense eyes. For three years, his wife had been locked in a sensory deprivation nightmare just hundreds of feet away from where he slept.

👉 Silas raised his weapon, ready to blow the locks off the heavy steel door and finally bring his queen back from the dead.
