Chapter 6 - The Cornered Rats

Two massive, heavily armed private security guards stepped out from the kitchen, rushing down the hallway.

"Throw him out of my house!" Patricia ordered frantically, her dark green dress swishing as she backed away. "He is trying to steal my property! And don't let him take the child!"

The guards stepped toward Daniel, but they hesitated.

Daniel wasn't intimidated. He stood up to his full height, holding the original Will in one hand and gently shielding Lily behind his leg with the other. The protective, terrifying father fully awakened.

"If either of you take one more step," Daniel warned smoothly, his voice vibrating with absolute, unstoppable authority, "I will ensure you both go to federal prison as accomplices to massive wire fraud and document forgery."

The guards stopped dead in their tracks, looking nervously at the legal documents in his hand. They were paid hourly; they weren't going to risk a federal indictment for a screaming rich woman.

Patricia hyperventilated, realizing her hired muscle had just abandoned her.

"Claire, get the paper!" Patricia shrieked, dropping to her knees and desperately grabbing the stacks of cash from the lockbox, shoving them frantically into the pockets of her expensive dress.

Claire lunged upward, wildly trying to snatch the Will from Daniel's hand.

But Daniel moved with explosive, blinding speed.

He effortlessly caught his wife's wrist mid-air. His powerful grip locked around her arm like a steel vice. He didn't strike her. He simply twisted her wrist sharply, forcing her back down to the floor.

"Don't ever touch me again," Daniel stated coldly.
