Chapter 7 - The Reversed Trap

"Send the all-clear," Dominic commanded flawlessly, his voice radiating absolute, unquestionable authority.
Serena’s jaw literally unhinged. She stared at the glowing phone screen in sheer, apocalyptic horror. If she sent the signal, the Marcone hit squad would blindly walk into the building, expecting an easy assassination.
"Dominic, no!" Serena wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the marble floor and ruining her expensive silk dress. "If I send that message and the hit fails, the Marcone family will hunt me down! They will torture me! You can't make me do this!"
"You will send the message right now," Dominic promised, pressing the phone directly into her shaking hands. "Or I will throw you out of this penthouse before they even reach the lobby."
Weeping uncontrollably, completely broken and humiliated, Serena typed the message.
Alarms are disabled. Target is asleep. Come up now.
The second the message was sent, Dominic violently snatched the phone back and crushed it under the heel of his polished leather shoe.
He immediately pulled his own phone from his black suit jacket and dialed his Head of Security, who was stationed in the heavily fortified basement command center.
