Chapter 4 - The Fake Mother

Standing a few feet away, glaring daggers at Emma, was Claudia.

Claudia was in her thirties, wearing a skin-tight, plunging red designer dress, dripping in diamonds. She was Vincent’s new fiancée, a ruthless, status-obsessed socialite who had aggressively pursued him after his wife’s tragic death.

"Get your filthy hands off my son," Claudia hissed, marching toward the table with absolute, toxic entitlement.

Emma felt a violent, protective surge of maternal instinct. She instinctively pulled Michael closer to her chest, glaring up at the woman in red.

"He was screaming for an hour," Vincent stated coldly, completely shutting down his fiancée's aggression. He looked at Claudia with zero affection. "She calmed him in ten seconds. Let her hold him."

"Vincent, she is a peasant!" Claudia shrieked, completely losing her high-society composure. "She probably hasn't even washed her hands! I am his mother now! Give him to me!"

Claudia reached out aggressively, trying to yank the sleeping baby from Emma’s arms.

Michael instantly woke up. Terrified by Claudia’s loud voice and rough hands, the baby let out a piercing, hysterical wail, grabbing Emma’s shirt even tighter.

Vincent stood up. The terrifying, lethal mafia boss fully awakened.

He violently grabbed Claudia’s wrist, stopping her dead in her tracks.

"Don't you ever pull him like that again," Vincent growled, his dark eyes radiating pure, demonic wrath.
