Chapter 1 - The Bronze Horse

The grand luxury mansion hallway was a masterpiece of cold, intimidating wealth. Glossy marble floors reflected the brilliant light of heavy crystal chandeliers, while towering white columns framed elegant, antique furniture. But the pristine, quiet atmosphere was violently shattered by a sudden, deafening crash.

"I hate you!"

The scream was high-pitched, raw, and completely unhinged.

Standing in the center of the hallway was Lucas, a seven-year-old boy wearing a dark burgundy polo shirt and khaki pants. His small chest was heaving with aggressive, unfiltered rage. He had just used all his body weight to forcefully push over a massive, heavy bronze horse statue from its black pedestal.

The heavy metal slammed onto the glossy marble floor, cracking the expensive stone and echoing like a bomb going off in the quiet estate.

Standing exactly three feet in front of the furious little boy was Maria. She was a woman in her mid-thirties, her hair tied back in a neat low bun, wearing a crisp, modest grey maid uniform with a white collar and a white apron. She didn't flinch when the heavy statue crashed to the ground. She didn't raise her hands to protect herself, and she didn't yell at the child.

She just stood there, looking down at the furious boy with cinematic, breathtaking calm.

Lucas glared up at her, his small fists clenched at his sides, fully expecting the maid to scream for security or drag him to his room. He expected the same violent, angry reaction he always received from the adults in this dark, unforgiving house.

👉 Lucas braced for punishment, but the maid's unexpected reaction was about to completely shatter his defenses.
