Chapter 7 - The Brother's Downfall

Luca didn't draw a weapon. He didn't need one.
He closed the distance between himself and his brother in two massive strides. With terrifying, brutal force, Luca grabbed Marco by the throat, effortlessly lifting the grown man several inches off the marble floor.
Marco gagged, his hands frantically clawing at Luca’s iron, tattooed grip. His crystal bourbon glass shattered on the floor.
"Luca, wait!" Marco choked out, his legs kicking weakly in the air.
"You injected my baby," Luca whispered, his voice vibrating with a dark, demonic rage that terrified every single person in the room. "You murdered my wife on that highway, didn't you? You set up the ambush."
Marco didn't answer. The sheer terror in his bulging eyes was all the confession Luca needed.
"Take him to the basement," Luca commanded, his voice cold and hollow.
Four massive bodyguards immediately swarmed Marco, prying him from Luca’s grip and violently dragging him out the back doors of the ballroom. Marco’s hysterical screams faded into the night, his life in the syndicate officially, permanently over.
Luca stood panting, adjusting his suit jacket. He slowly turned back around to look at the waitress and his daughter.
