Chapter 7 - The Hidden Audience

Victor shrieked, physically staggering backward as the shadows in the corner shifted.

Julian stepped out of the darkness. He wasn't unarmed. He held a heavy, military-grade handgun, and his dark eyes were pitch black with an apocalyptic, demonic rage that sucked all the oxygen entirely out of the cellar.

He had taken a secret service elevator down to the basement seconds after we left the dining room. He had stood in the dark, perfectly silent, and listened to every single word of Victor’s arrogant, venomous confession.

Victor’s suppressed pistol trembled violently in his hand. He looked at Julian, realizing his entire treasonous plot was completely, undeniably exposed.

"Julian... wait, you don't understand!" Victor stammered, dropping his gun to the concrete floor in absolute, humiliating panic. "She manipulated the conversation! It was a setup! I was just trying to scare her into confessing!"

Julian didn't yell. The cinematic realism of his absolute, unbreakable calm was a thousand times more terrifying than any violent outburst.

"You burned my wife alive," Julian whispered, the raw agony in his voice echoing off the concrete walls. "You made me grieve a dead daughter for three years. And you smiled at my dinner table."

Julian raised his weapon.

"Julian, please! We're blood!" Victor wept, dropping to his knees, utterly pathetic and broken. "I can fix this! I'll give you the offshore accounts! I'll leave the country! You can't kill your own family!"

"You stopped being my family three years ago," Julian stated coldly.

👉 Julian prepared to execute the traitor, but the punishment he delivered would be far worse than a quick bullet.
