Chapter 10 - The Clear Vision

In the months that followed, Brenda’s life completely collapsed. The irrefutable evidence of her medical fraud and theft resulted in a rapid conviction. She was sentenced to ten years in a state penitentiary, completely stripped of her wealth, her designer clothes, and her freedom. Dominic was forced to live in a cramped apartment with his grandmother, completely cut off from the luxurious lifestyle his mother had stolen for him.

Frank finalized his divorce flawlessly. The ironclad trust fund ensured Brenda couldn't touch a single penny of his hard-earned empire.

A year later, the bright school hallway was bustling again.

But this time, there was no humiliation.

Frank stood near the main entrance, wearing a sharp, clean button-down shirt. He smiled warmly as the final bell rang.

Rosie ran out of her classroom. She wasn't wearing a faded sweater or taped, broken glasses. She wore a beautiful new jacket and a flawless, stylish pair of high-end prescription glasses. She could see the world perfectly, and her confidence radiated through the hallway.

She ran directly into Frank’s arms, hugging him incredibly tight.

"I got an A on my reading test, Dad!" Rosie beamed, looking up at him with clear, bright eyes.

Frank smiled, his heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true love isn't found in buying expensive sneakers—it is found in having the courage to see the truth, and fighting to protect the ones who need you most.

Do you think ten years in prison was enough justice for Brenda, or did the cruel stepmother deserve a harsher punishment for intentionally blinding a child?
