Chapter 6 - The Empty Account

Frank’s fingers flew across the keyboard.
Brenda had systematically drained over fifty thousand dollars from Rosie's college fund over the last two years, funneling the cash into her personal offshore accounts and buying designer clothes.
Frank didn't call a lawyer to beg for a freeze. He didn't ask for permission.
With three swift clicks, Frank completely drained the massive joint account. He transferred every single penny, including Brenda’s secret savings stash, directly into an ironclad, irrevocable trust fund in Rosie’s name. A trust that Brenda could never, ever touch.
The joint account balance instantly hit $0.00.
Frank closed the laptop. The blue-collar mechanic was gone. The ruthless, protective father was fully in control.
He grabbed the thick stack of financial evidence, got into his truck, and drove back to his suburban home.
When Frank walked through the front door, the house was quiet. Brenda was sitting comfortably on the expensive leather sofa in the living room, drinking a glass of red wine. Dominic was sitting on the floor, admiring his new eight-hundred-dollar sneakers.
Brenda didn't even look up when Frank walked in.
"I hope you're done throwing your little temper tantrum, Frank," Brenda scoffed arrogantly, taking a sip of her wine. "I ordered sushi for dinner. Your card declined, so you'll need to call the bank tomorrow."
Frank stood in his gray work shirt, looking at the monster sitting on his couch.

"The card didn't decline, Brenda," Frank stated smoothly, his voice echoing in the quiet house. "The account is empty."
