Chapter 4 - The Impossible Truth

"Where did you learn that melody?" Rafael asked softly, completely dropping his terrifying mafia glare. He looked at Nora with profound, overwhelming desperation.
Nora swallowed hard, clutching little Ben against her apron.
"My mother," Nora whispered, her voice shaking with fear. "She sang it to me every night before she passed away last year. She said she wrote it for her older brother."
Rafael physically staggered backward on his knees, his dark suit wrinkling as his broad shoulders shook with heavy, undeniable emotion.
He stared at the beautiful twenty-something maid with the brown updo. He looked closely at her features for the very first time. He saw the exact same dark, intelligent eyes. He saw the exact same bone structure.
Nora wasn't just a random maid he had hired three months ago. She was Elena's daughter. She was his biological niece. And the weeping six-year-old boy in the dark suit was his own bloodline.
"You're Elena's daughter," Rafael choked out, tears of pure, unadulterated shock flooding his hardened eyes.
"Yes, sir," Nora whispered, utterly confused by his emotional reaction.
