Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Foreclosure

"Rachel, please!" Thomas wailed pathetically, all his stern authority violently collapsing into dust.
He dropped to his knees on her cold porch. "We're your parents! Have mercy!"
Rachel looked down at the weeping, broken man.
"You showed my daughter no mercy," Rachel replied quietly.
She stepped back inside and closed the heavy front door, locking them out of her life forever.
In the months that followed, the fake empire completely imploded. Without Rachel’s monthly lifeline, the bank swiftly foreclosed on the Wheaton mansion. Thomas and Evelyn were evicted, forced to move into a tiny, rundown apartment.
Mark, completely cut off from the bank of mom and dad, finally had to get a minimum-wage job just to survive, utterly humiliated by his sudden plunge into poverty.
Rachel, meanwhile, took the $1,850 she saved every month and put it directly into a college trust fund for Leslie.

Do you think losing their mansion was enough justice for Evelyn and Thomas, or did the cruel grandparents deserve a harsher punishment for bullying a child?
