Mauricio stared at the encrypted flash drive resting in his hand. The blood violently drained from his face.
He immediately pulled his secure corporate laptop from his briefcase on the passenger seat. He plugged the silver drive into the port. A password prompt appeared on the screen. Mauricio didn't hesitate; he typed in his late father’s favorite phrase.

"Mauricio," his father’s recorded voice echoed through the quiet SUV. "If you are watching this, it means your mother has tried to steal the empire. I have known for months that Carmen was embezzling millions from the corporate accounts to fund her private gambling debts. She is ruthless, and she cares only about herself."
Mauricio’s heart hammered against his ribs.
"I have officially rewritten my Will," Arthur continued, coughing slightly. "I have legally bypassed your mother entirely. The entire multi-billion-dollar estate, the mansion, and the corporate holdings are being left directly to my first legally recognized grandchild. Renata."
The cinematic realization crashed over Mauricio with the force of a nuclear bomb.
