Chapter 4 - The Twisted Ultimatum

The sterile hallway felt like a pressure cooker about to explode.

"What have you done?!" Allison shrieked, completely losing her high-society composure. She limped forward, aggressively grabbing Nathan’s black overcoat. "You lied to me! You told me she was a barren, manipulative psycho! You told me you were sterile!"

Nathan frantically tried to shush her, hyper-aware of the nurses watching them from the nearby station. "Allison, keep your voice down! We can talk about this at home!"

"No! We are talking about this right now!" Allison screamed, her voice echoing off the polished tile.

The reason Allison was so absolutely, viscerally horrified wasn't just about the cheating. The ruptured cyst she had just been treated for had caused catastrophic internal scarring. The doctor had delivered the devastating news just an hour ago: Allison was entirely, irreversibly infertile. She would never be able to have children.

And now, standing right in front of her, was the beautiful, healthy son her fiancé had created with the woman he threw away.

"You are going to take a paternity test today!" Allison ordered Nathan, her voice shaking with desperate fury. "And if that brat is yours, you are going to file for full custody. She is unstable! We have more money! We can take him from her!"

Claire’s blood turned to absolute ice. The cold, detached exterior shattered, replaced by a fierce, maternal wrath. She gripped the wheels of her wheelchair, ready to unleash hell.

But Nathan didn't agree with his fiancée.
