Chapter 9 - The Eviction

"You ruined me!" Nathan screamed hysterically, lunging forward with a raised fist toward the man who had just destroyed his entire fake life.

But Nathan never reached him.

Two massive, heavily armed hospital security guards, who had been quietly summoned by the nurses, stepped in front of Arthur. They violently grabbed Nathan by the arms, twisting his wrists behind his back.

"Get your hands off me!" Nathan shrieked, kicking wildly as the guards hauled him backward.

"Sir, you are causing a massive disturbance in a maternity ward," the lead guard barked, completely unfazed by Nathan's struggling. "You and this woman need to leave the premises immediately, or you will be arrested for trespassing and assault."

"I am a patient!" Allison wailed pathetically, pointing at her hospital gown.

"You were officially discharged twenty minutes ago," a stern nurse called out from the desk. "Security, escort them out into the snow."

The guards dragged the weeping, thrashing Nathan down the polished tile corridor. Allison limped frantically behind him, sobbing uncontrollably, realizing she had absolutely no home to return to and a loan shark looking for her fiancé's money.

Their desperate, pathetic cries faded into the elevator, ending their reign of betrayal, cruelty, and greed forever. They were thrown out into the freezing Boston winter with absolutely nothing.
