Chapter 8 - The Financial Slaughter

Allison glared at Arthur, her cream cashmere robe swishing as she stepped forward.

"Fine!" Allison spat arrogantly. "Keep the brat! Nathan and I don't need your pathetic family anyway! We have my money!"

Arthur smiled a cold, merciless, terrifying smile. He looked at the wealthy mistress with absolute disgust.

"Your money?" Arthur mocked quietly. "You mean the trust fund your grandfather set up for you?"

Allison froze. "How do you know about my trust fund?"

"Because my law firm represents the executor of your grandfather's estate," Arthur revealed smoothly, delivering the ultimate, devastating checkmate. "A trust fund that explicitly contains a morality clause. A clause that allows the executor to freeze all assets if the beneficiary is found to be funding illegal gambling debts or associating with known loan sharks."

All the blood violently drained from Allison’s flawless face.

"I submitted the financial audit to the executor yesterday," Arthur stated, his voice devoid of all human empathy. "They tracked the massive wire transfers you sent to Nathan's bookie. As of 9:00 AM this morning, your trust fund is entirely frozen. Your credit cards are declined. Your penthouse is currently being seized by the bank."

Allison stumbled backward, clutching her bandaged abdomen, her eyes wide with sheer, paralyzing horror.

"No..." Allison gasped, hyperventilating. "No, you can't do that! I have nothing else!"

"You have exactly what you deserve," Arthur replied coldly.
