Chapter 4 - The Second Folder
Preston ran a trembling hand through his neatly styled dark hair. The realization of what Megan had done hit him like a freight train. He was legally, biologically, and financially tied to the twins fighting for their lives in the NICU. His plan to publicly humiliate Megan and leave her destitute had completely imploded.
"You crazy bitch," Preston hissed, his eyes burning with pure malice. "You think having those kids secures your place in my life? My lawyers will destroy you for forging my signature. I am divorcing you. Sienna is the woman I actually love. She is giving me the child I actually want."
Sienna stepped forward, her fitted white dress clinging to her curves. She rested her hand prominently on her 14-week pregnant abdomen, offering Megan a sickeningly sweet, victorious smile.
"Preston and I are starting a real family," Sienna sneered, her voice dripping with venom. "Without having to steal frozen embryos out of a freezer like a desperate science experiment."
Dr. Patel didn't react to the insults. His natural micro-expressions remained strictly professional. He slowly closed the paternity report for the twins and picked up a second, thinner medical folder from the table.
Dr. Patel turned his calm, serious gaze directly toward the pregnant mistress.
