Chapter 8 - The Brother's Betrayal
The room spun violently around Preston. The expensive navy suit suddenly felt like a straitjacket. He let go of Sienna’s arm, stumbling away from her as if she were covered in poison.
"My... my brother?" Preston stammered, the words barely making it past his lips. "Colin?"
Sienna burst into ugly, desperate tears. The beautiful, confident woman completely collapsed against the frosted glass of the window, sliding down to the floor in her white dress.
"Preston, please, it was just one night!" Sienna sobbed hysterically. "Colin came over when you were out of town! We were drinking! I swear I didn't know I was pregnant by him until a few weeks ago! But Colin is broke! He doesn't have the trust fund! I needed you to think it was yours so you would marry me and give the baby a good life!"
Preston stared at her in sheer, unadulterated horror.
He had demanded a paternity test to destroy his wife, fully believing she was the traitor. Instead, he had just paid a doctor to hand him undeniable, scientific proof that his mistress had been sleeping with his own brother, and was plotting to trick him into raising his nephew to steal his inheritance.
