Chapter 7 - The Master Manipulator
"Mom?" Preston asked, his voice cracking with sudden panic. He reached out to take the paper from his mother. "Mom, what does it say? Tell me it says I'm sterile."
Lorraine didn't hand him the paper. Instead, she slapped her son across the face with such brutal, unexpected force that the sound echoed like a gunshot in the small consultation room.
Preston stumbled backward, holding his red, stinging cheek in utter shock. "What the hell?!"
"You absolute fool!" Lorraine shrieked, entirely losing her immaculate, high-society composure. She pointed a shaking finger at Sienna, who was now desperately fumbling with the brass handle of the closed door. "Don't let her leave!"
Preston, completely confused, grabbed Sienna’s arm, pulling her away from the door. "Sienna, what's going on? Mom, why did you hit me?!"
"Because you destroyed your marriage and abandoned your premature children for a woman who is playing you for a fool!" Lorraine screamed, her chest heaving. "That paper is a cross-reference of Sienna’s prenatal bloodwork from her ER visit last month."
Lorraine took a step toward the terrified mistress, looking like she wanted to tear her apart with her bare hands.

"She is fourteen weeks pregnant," Lorraine hissed, her voice dripping with venom. "But she isn't pregnant with your child, Preston. Because the bloodwork proves the fetus she is carrying is a genetic match to your younger brother."
