Chapter 8 - The Doctor's Protection

"Graham is a coward," Dr. Mercer stated clinically, perfectly reading the toxic dynamic of the family. "He left you bleeding on the stairs to protect his mother. You don't need him. And you certainly don't need her."

Dr. Mercer pulled a heavy, encrypted digital tablet from his pocket.

"I am legally obligated to report suspected domestic abuse," Dr. Mercer explained smoothly. "But I also have complete, absolute medical authority over how I document this file."

Nora looked up, wiping her watery eyes.

"I am going to document that the seven fractured ribs on this X-ray are entirely fresh," Dr. Mercer announced, a chilling, victorious smirk touching his lips. "I am going to explicitly state in my professional medical opinion that Judith Vance violently shoved you down a wooden staircase with enough blunt force trauma to shatter your ribcage."

Nora gasped loudly, her hand flying to her mouth. "You would do that?"

"I despise bullies," Dr. Mercer whispered coldly. "And I despise wealthy monsters who think they can hurt innocent women without consequences."

The doctor quickly, efficiently typed the heavily altered medical report into the digital tablet, legally signing his name at the bottom. He wasn't just a compassionate doctor; he was actively, flawlessly weaponizing his medical license to completely destroy a toxic socialite.

"The police are waiting in the hallway," Dr. Mercer stated, setting the tablet down. "Are you ready to press charges?"

Nora straightened her posture in the wheelchair. The terrified victim completely vanished, violently replaced by a cold, calculating apex predator.

👉 Nora nodded firmly, entirely ready to detonate a nuclear bomb on the wealthy family.
