Chapter 7 - The Final Confrontation

Alessandro carried Sofia up the hidden spiral staircase, kicking the secret panel door open and stepping directly into the grand foyer of the mansion.
The massive room was bustling with activity. Ten armed syndicate guards were frantically packing duffel bags with cash and offshore hard drives. Standing at the center of it all was Valentina, wearing a stunning red designer dress, barking orders with arrogant authority.
"Hurry up!" Valentina yelled at the guards. "The police will be here in ten minutes! We have the money! Let the boss's body burn in the driveway!"
"Nobody is burning today, Valentina."
The deep, booming voice echoed through the grand foyer, instantly paralyzing every single person in the room.
Valentina spun around, her pristine red nails digging into her palms. When she saw Alessandro standing there, completely unharmed, carrying the frail, living body of her sister, all the blood violently drained from her flawless face. She looked like she had just seen a demon crawl out of hell.
"Alessandro!" Valentina gasped, stumbling backward in pure, unadulterated terror. "Shoot him! Shoot him right now!"
The ten guards raised their weapons, but they hesitated. They were mercenaries, paid to stage a coup, but facing the legendary, terrifying boss of the syndicate in person was a completely different reality.
Alessandro didn't even flinch at the guns pointed at him. He gently set Sofia down, keeping her safely behind his back.
