Chapter 9 - The Arrest

The lead officer looked at the forged transfer document. He didn't need to hear another word.
He violently yanked Louis’s arms behind his back. The cold steel handcuffs clicked loudly around his wrists, snapping the arrogant fraud back into the horrific reality of his crimes.
"Louis Vance," the officer stated coldly. "You are under arrest for felony forgery, grand larceny, and attempted real estate fraud."
"No! Dad, please!" Louis wailed pathetically, completely breaking down as the officers hauled him up from the table. "I was just trying to impress Carla! I didn't mean to steal it! Have mercy! I'm your son!"
Ernest stood tall in his light blue shirt. He looked at the man he had raised, feeling absolutely no human empathy for the monster crying in front of him.
Ernest reached over to the side table, picking up the dented metal dog bowl filled with dry kibble. He held it up slightly.
"I hear the state prison serves a very similar dinner," Ernest replied quietly, completely turning his back on him.
The officers dragged the weeping, hysterical young man out of the beautiful house. His desperate, pathetic cries faded down the driveway, ending his reign of psychological cruelty, arrogance, and greed forever. He was going to a maximum-security prison completely, irreversibly broke.
