The cinematic tension in the dark study was completely paralyzing.
The four lieutenants instantly reached for their weapons, terrified that the dog was about to rip the innocent little girl to pieces before they could cross the room to save her. Dante’s heart flatlined in his chest. He knew Bruno’s lethal training.
But Sophie didn't stop walking. She wasn't scared.
She walked right up to the massive Doberman. The terrifying guard dog let out a low, vibrating growl that shook the floorboards.
Sophie completely ignored the growl. She reached her tiny hands out, gently wrapping her arms completely around the massive dog's thick, muscular neck.
"Can your dog be my best friend?" Sophie asked innocently, looking right past the Doberman to the stunned mafia boss.
The heavy, suffocating silence in the room broke.
Bruno, the lethal, violently aggressive guard dog, didn't snap his jaws. He didn't attack. Instead, the massive beast let out a soft, high-pitched whine. He slowly, gently lowered his heavy head, melting completely and peacefully into the little girl's embrace, resting his chin on her small shoulder.
