Chapter 6 - The Checkmate

Valeria smiled triumphantly, expecting Dante to order his men to grab the dog.

But Dante didn't look at his lieutenants. He looked directly at the arrogant woman in the white suit, feeling absolutely zero human empathy for the monster standing in his study.

"You are a liability," Dante whispered lethally.

Valeria froze, her smug smile violently collapsing. "What did you just say?"

"You kicked my brother's dog," Dante stated coldly, his voice echoing perfectly in the silent room. "You abuse the staff. And you just threatened a five-year-old child in my presence. You aren't the future queen of anything, Valeria. You are a disgusting, pathetic parasite."

Valeria stopped breathing. The blood completely drained from her perfectly contoured face.

"You can't talk to me like that!" Valeria shrieked like a feral banshee, stepping backward in sheer terror. "My father is the boss of the northern cartel! If you break our engagement, he will declare a blood war on your entire syndicate!"

Dante smiled—a cold, merciless, cinematic smile that sent a shiver down her spine.

"Your father already knows," Dante revealed flawlessly. "I sent him the security footage of you kicking Bruno. He was so disgusted by your absolute lack of discipline that he officially disowned you an hour ago. He fully endorsed the termination of our engagement."
