Chapter 10 - The True Royalty

The chaotic, violent energy completely evaporated from the massive estate.

Adrian stood alone in his office. He poured a second glass of bourbon, letting out a long, shuddering breath. The heavy, agonizing weight of betrayal was finally lifted. His empire was completely, undeniably secure.

He walked out of his office and down to the secure, brightly lit family wing of the mansion.

Rachel, the maid, was sitting nervously on a plush velvet sofa, holding little Elsie tightly. She was terrified they were going to be fired, or worse, punished for seeing the assassination attempt.

Adrian completely bypassed the arrogance of his immense wealth. He didn't look at them like employees.

He gently crouched down in front of the sofa, bringing himself right to Elsie’s eye level.

"You are the bravest girl I have ever met, Elsie," Adrian said softly, genuine, profound respect filling his dark eyes.

Adrian pulled a thick, fully notarized legal document from his suit jacket and handed it directly to Rachel.

"You don't work for me anymore, Rachel," Adrian stated smoothly. "This is a fully funded, multi-million-dollar trust in Elsie’s name. It covers her entire education, a new home for you both, and absolute, permanent protection from my organization. Nobody will ever touch you."

Rachel burst into tears of overwhelming joy, clutching the document to her chest.

A year later, little Elsie was running barefoot across the lush green grass of her brand-new, heavily guarded estate, wearing a beautiful pink lace dress. Adrian stood on the patio, watching her laugh, his heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true power isn't found in a gold ring—it is found in the innocent courage of a child who refuses to stay silent.

Do you think handing Julian over to the capos was enough justice, or did the cruel brother deserve a harsher punishment directly from Adrian?
