Chapter 9 - The Execution

"It was a setup!" Julian shrieked like a feral banshee, completely dropping his loving brother facade.

He aggressively reached inside his suit jacket, desperately trying to pull a weapon to shoot his way out of the office.

But Adrian moved with explosive, blinding speed.

Before Julian could even clear his holster, Adrian crossed the room and violently slammed his own brother face-first onto the heavy mahogany desk. He twisted Julian’s arm behind his back, easily disarming the traitor.

"You tried to kill me, Julian," Adrian whispered lethally, pressing his weight against his brother. "You were willing to burn a five-year-old child alive just to sit in my chair."

"I deserve the chair!" Julian roared hysterically, thrashing wildly against the desk. "I do all the dirty work while you play the noble king! I am the one who built this empire!"

Adrian felt absolutely zero human empathy for the monster screaming under him.

"You built nothing," Adrian replied coldly.

He didn't pull a trigger. He stepped back from the desk, straightening his tailored suit. He looked at the six powerful capos standing in the room.

"Take his ring," Adrian commanded flawlessly. "And take him to the harbor. He is no longer my brother. He is a traitor to the family."

The capos moved in, violently hauling the weeping, panicking Julian out of the grand office. His desperate cries for mercy faded down the hallway, ending his reign of toxic ambition, cruelty, and greed forever. He was going to face the ultimate, brutal justice of the criminal underworld.
