Chapter 1 - The Dirty Jumpsuit

The bright, sterile lights of the corporate conference room reflected flawlessly off the polished mahogany table and the array of crystal champagne flutes. Behind the head chair, a massive presentation screen boldly read "Riverside Capital Group." The room was filled with elite investors and board members in tailored dark suits, gathered for a formal, high-stakes dining setup to celebrate a massive corporate merger.
But standing right in the doorway was a man who clearly didn't belong in their world.
Evan, a man in his 30s with unkempt dark hair, stood quietly holding a black cap in his grease-stained hands. He was wearing a dirty, faded blue work jumpsuit, his heavy steel-toed boots leaving faint scuff marks on the pristine carpet. He had been called up in an emergency to fix a massive plumbing leak in the executive bathroom.
At the head of the table stood Cassandra, the 30-something CEO of the firm. She was a vision of ruthless corporate power, her blonde hair swept into a flawless updo, wearing a plunging black designer dress. She held a crystal champagne glass, stopping mid-toast as she noticed Evan in the doorway.
Instead of asking him what was wrong, Cassandra pointed her manicured finger directly at Evan and let out a loud, mocking laugh that echoed through the room.
