Chapter 9 - The Platinum Offer

"Then you better start updating your resume," Arthur stated coldly, entirely unfazed by her hysterical tears. "Because Riverside Capital Group will never see a single dime of my money."

The board members immediately began frantically texting on their phones, realizing the company was about to go under and preparing to vote Cassandra out by the end of the hour.

Arthur completely ignored the chaos he had just caused. He turned his attention back to Evan, who was still standing quietly in the doorway.

"Evan," Arthur said, his tone softening entirely. "You lost your garage because you spent too much time helping people in need. You are a brilliant mechanic, and a better man. I don't want you fixing pipes in a building owned by a parasite."

Arthur reached into the inner pocket of his dark suit and pulled out a heavy, platinum business card.

"I just bought a massive commercial automotive fleet," Arthur offered, holding the card out. "I need a Director of Maintenance to oversee operations across the entire East Coast. The starting salary is four hundred thousand dollars a year, with full autonomy to hire your own crew."

Evan looked at the platinum card, then at the billionaire who had spent three years searching for him. Evan slowly reached out and took the card.
