Chapter 10 - The Golden Freedom

Miles away, the warm coastal sun was shining brightly over a beautiful, high-end beachfront condo.
Albert sat comfortably on his private, expansive balcony, looking out over the sparkling ocean. He wasn't wearing his faded green jacket anymore. He wore a crisp, comfortable linen shirt, holding a glass of iced tea.
He looked incredibly, profoundly at peace. His facial micro-expressions projected a quiet, untouchable dignity.
For two years, he had sacrificed his own comfort and endured relentless emotional abuse just to protect a son who didn't even have the courage to stand up for him. Walking out of that suburban house was the most agonizing decision of his life, but it was also the most liberating.
He didn't need to hide his wealth anymore. He didn't need to shrink himself to make an arrogant daughter-in-law comfortable. He was finally living for himself.
His phone buzzed on the glass table. The caller ID flashed Logan’s name for the hundredth time that week.
With a calm, steady hand, Albert pressed the block button, permanently silencing the toxic noise of the past. He took a slow sip of his tea, listening to the crashing waves, completely free.

The dark shadows of manipulation, cowardice, and disrespect were permanently banished from his life, replaced by an empire built on absolute peace, undeniable courage, and perfect justice.
If you were Albert, would you have left them a warning note about the mortgage, or was letting them get evicted in total shock the absolute perfect revenge?
