Chapter 5 - The Morning Departure

The next morning, the grand American suburban home was quiet. The remnants of the dinner party—empty wine bottles and dirty crystal glasses—were scattered across the expensive kitchen island.
Albert walked heavily down the grand staircase.
He was wearing his signature green jacket and carrying his two large suitcases. The wheels rolled smoothly across the pristine hardwood floors, the sound echoing loudly through the silent house.
Chelsea and Logan were standing in the kitchen, sipping expensive espresso.
When they heard the suitcases, they both turned around. Logan’s eyes widened in sudden, cowardly panic. He gripped his coffee mug, his knuckles turning white as he realized his father was actually leaving.
Chelsea, however, didn't look concerned. She wore her red wrap dress from the night before, having just rolled out of bed. She crossed her arms over her chest, leaning confidently against the marble counter.
She assumed the old man was just throwing a pathetic, dramatic temper tantrum. She fully believed he had absolutely nowhere else to go and would be crawling back to her doorstep begging for a warm bed by nightfall.
"Let him go, Logan," Chelsea said loudly, ensuring her voice carried across the living room.
A highly satisfied, incredibly smug smirk spread across her face as she watched her father-in-law struggle with the heavy bags.

"He'll be back," Chelsea scoffed coldly.
👉 Albert didn't argue with her, but the final action he took before opening the door sealed their absolute doom.
