Chapter 2 - The False Accusation

The cinematic realism of the tension in the drawing room shifted into a strange, breathless silence.

A medium shot captured the bizarre scene flawlessly. Sophie kept her tiny finger pointed directly at the massive Doberman. Kneeling nervously in the middle of the scattered white stuffing was Anna, a thirty-something maid with a blonde updo, wearing a classic black and white maid uniform. Anna’s hands trembled violently as she desperately tried to clean up the mess.

Sitting casually on the armrest of Dante’s sofa was Elena. The stunning twenty-something woman wore a glamorous red silk slip dress, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders. She took a slow sip of her champagne, watching the child with a toxic, hidden smirk.

"He broke Mr. Buttons," Sophie declared, her voice cracking with genuine, heartbreaking anger as she held up the ruined bear.

Dante didn't yell. He didn't dismiss the little girl he had sworn to protect after her parents passed away. A medium close-up captured Dante leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. He looked at the torn bear, suppressing a rare, genuine smile at the fearless child confronting his lethal guard dog.

"Are you certain?" Dante asked calmly, his dark eyes analyzing the scene.

A tight close-up focused on Sophie. She glared back at him, clutching the ruined bear even tighter against her chest.
