Chapter 4 - The Hidden Camera
The suffocating, heavy tension in the grand drawing room was completely deafening.
Dante didn't pull his hand out of the bear immediately. He kept his face completely blank, ensuring the woman in the red silk dress didn't suspect a single thing. He recognized the exact shape and texture of the hard plastic square hidden in the cotton.
It was a micro-SD memory card.
Dante had personally installed a tiny, military-grade nanny camera inside the button eye of Mr. Buttons six months ago, strictly to ensure Sophie was safe when he wasn't home. Nobody knew the camera existed.
"Anna," Dante commanded smoothly, standing up to his full height. "Take Sophie to the kitchen and get her some ice cream. I need to take this to my office to stitch it up."
"Yes, sir!" Anna gasped, quickly taking Sophie's hand and rushing the little girl out of the room.
Elena laughed softly, walking over to Dante in her red silk dress. She trailed her manicured fingers down the lapel of his black suit, completely faking her affection. "You are too soft on that brat, Dante. It's just a cheap toy."
"I like to fix broken things," Dante replied coldly, stepping away from her touch.

Dante walked directly into his heavily secured, soundproof office. He locked the heavy mahogany doors behind him. He reached into the bear, pulled out the micro-SD card, and immediately inserted it into his encrypted laptop.
