Chapter 10 - The Dinosaur's Dance

The grand ballroom slowly quieted down. The heavy, dark tension evaporated, leaving only a profound sense of relief. The monsters who had hurt Lily were gone forever, completely erased from their lives, and true justice had been brutally served.

Dominic took a deep, shuddering breath. He wiped the single tear from his cheek and composed himself. The terrifying mafia boss disappeared once again, leaving only a devoted father in a pink tutu.

He turned around and walked back to the center of the stage.

"You can open your eyes now, my angel," Dominic said softly.

Lily lowered her hands. She looked around the stage, noticing that the bad man who laughed at her father was gone, and the mean woman who always yelled at her in secret was nowhere to be seen. She looked up at her towering, heavily tattooed father in his ballet shoes, and her bright, beautiful smile returned.

Dominic raised his muscular arms gracefully back into his ballet pose. He spun around clumsily on his toes, making the fluffy pink tutu bounce, completely unafraid of looking foolish for the child he loved more than life itself.

Lily clapped her hands together, laughing a pure, joyful laugh that echoed perfectly in the grand hall. For the first time in three months, she felt completely, beautifully safe.

If you had a daughter who was wronged like this, how far would you go to make the people who hurt her pay?
