Chapter 8 - The Monster's Push
On the giant screen, a small figure suddenly appeared in the hallway. It was Lily. She was wearing her little pink pajamas, holding her favorite stuffed bear, rubbing her eyes sleepily. She had woken up for a glass of water and walked right into the middle of their treasonous conversation.
The recorded Lily froze, looking terrified as she processed Vanessa’s cruel words.
“She heard us,” Marco panicked on the video, stepping backward. “Vanessa, she heard everything!”
Lily turned around, trying to run back to her bedroom.
But Vanessa was faster. The beautiful, elegant woman lunged forward like a rabid animal. She grabbed the six-year-old girl by the shoulders. Lily screamed, dropping her teddy bear.
“You little brat!” Vanessa snarled on the recording. “You are not ruining this for me!”
And then, with a violent, forceful shove, Vanessa pushed the little girl directly down the steep, solid marble staircase.
The sickening sound of the child tumbling down the stairs echoed through the massive ballroom speakers. Marco just stood there on the screen and watched, doing absolutely nothing to help as the little girl’s spine was shattered.
In the present, the ballroom erupted in chaos. People were screaming. Women were covering their mouths in absolute horror.
