Chapter 5 - The Dangerous Question

Sophie didn't back down. The sheer, apocalyptic panic radiating from her former manager meant absolutely nothing to her anymore. She had already lost her job; she had absolutely nothing left to lose.
She took a confident, aggressive step closer to the VIP table, completely invading the billionaire's personal space.
"If you aren't enjoying it, then why are you just sitting there?" Sophie asked firmly, her voice carrying a profound, undeniable, and heavy weight. "If you have all this power, all this money, but you just watch people get treated like garbage, what good is it? You sit there in your expensive blue suit, completely silent. You're worse than she is."
The air in the luxury restaurant instantly dropped ten degrees. The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing silence paralyzed the wealthy diners.
Adrien completely froze.
He slowly, methodically lowered his cigarette to the crystal ashtray. His dark eyes widened by a fraction of a millimeter. For the first time in his entire adult life, the clinical, untouchable billionaire was genuinely, profoundly stunned. He looked at the twenty-four-year-old waitress, completely captivated by the raw, unfiltered courage she was displaying.
Behind Sophie, Brenda was practically collapsing.
"Sophie... stop!" Brenda hissed, her voice cracking into a high-pitched, desperate squeal of pure, unadulterated terror. "Are you insane?! That's Adrien Voss!"

Sophie frowned, her adrenaline-fueled rage pausing for a microsecond. The name echoed in her mind, and the terrifying reality finally clicked into place.
👉 Sophie realized she hadn't just yelled at a wealthy customer, she had just aggressively insulted the man who owned the entire building.
