Chapter 7 - The Corporate Lockdown

"Mr. Voss, I am so deeply sorry," Brenda wept, completely abandoning her strict, professional persona as the billionaire loomed over her. "She is a terrible employee! I was just protecting the elite, luxury standards of your restaurant! I was protecting your brand!"
Adrien stared down at the forty-five-year-old manager. His handsome face was a mask of absolute, unforgiving titanium.
"You didn't fire her to protect my brand, Brenda," Adrien stated clinically, his deep voice carrying across the silent dining room. "You fired her because she caught you."
The entire restaurant gasped. Sophie stood frozen a few feet away, her dark eyes widening in sheer, absolute shock.
"I... I don't know what you mean, sir," Brenda choked out, cold sweat pouring down her pale face, completely ruining her expensive makeup.
Adrien reached into the inner breast pocket of his tailored blue suit. He pulled out a sleek, black encrypted cell phone and tapped the screen exactly once.
"I didn't come here tonight to drink wine and enjoy the skyline view, Brenda," Adrien explained, his voice entirely devoid of human mercy. "My forensic accounting team flagged a massive, undeniable discrepancy in this specific location's operating budget three weeks ago. We audited the systems. We found the offshore wire transfers."
Brenda let out a horrific, high-pitched gasp, clutching her chest as if she had just been shot.
